The half-hexagon pieces make the pinwheel effect look way more intricate than it actually is to put together. I had the top assembled in a weekend and kept grinning every time a new section clicked into place.

The half-hexagons click together so smoothly that the intricate pinwheel pattern emerged way faster than I expected. I’ve already got three blocks done in one evening.

I was skeptical about the 1-1/2" half-hexagons at first, but the way they click together makes the whole thing feel like a puzzle. I’ve got the center finished in two evenings and the “pinwheel” effect looks way more complex than the actual sewing was.
