Pieces of Joy de Millefiori Quilts 5 de Willyne Hammerstein

The paper pieces arrived pre-cut and the edges are clean enough that basting goes fast. I'm doing the fussy-cut hexies by hand and the weight of the cardstock holds a crease nicely. Halfway through my first rosette and already planning which fabric to use next.

The paper pieces are cut so precisely that my hexagons line up perfectly without any trimming, which saves me hours on this quilt. I've done English paper piecing for years and the cardstock weight here holds its shape through multiple basting rounds.

The fifth book in this series has the same intricate English paper piecing patterns I've come to expect, with full-size templates included in the back. I've already traced two of the rosette designs for my next project. Willyne's fussy-cutting diagrams finally made the layout click for me.
