This project combines English Paper Piecing, appliqué, and machine piecing to create a sweet and simple wall-hanging sized quilt. Traditional fabrics complement the design and the lattice and borders frame the blocks to let each rosette stand out. Jo Morton is a quilt maker, fabric designer, teacher, author, and lecturer. Using antique quilts as her source of inspiration, Jo's quilts have the distinct feeling of being made in the 19th century. She has been hand piecing since the 1980's and prefers to make small quilts because they are quick to stitch together and are perfect for decorating your home. Finished size: 32-1/2" x 32-1/2".

Riley ★★★★★

I was pleasantly surprised by how clearly the directions walk you through combining English paper piecing and machine piecing—it's the perfect mix for a weekend project. The traditional fabrics in the design give it that cozy, heirloom feel without being fussy. Already thinking about making another

The instructions are a real workout—the lattice and border sections had me re-reading the diagrams a few times, but the mix of EPP and machine piecing makes the wall-hanging come together faster than a pure hand-sewing project.

I love how the combination of English paper piecing, appliqué, and machine piecing flows together in this pattern. The traditional fabric suggestions really make the wall-hanging feel cohesive and charming.
