The piece count is generous—144 diamonds and 384 hexagons meant I could actually plan the border before cutting into my stash. The paper pieces held their shape well during basting, and the mix of needleturn and reverse applique in the pattern keeps things interesting without feeling overwhelming.

I was a little nervous about tackling the diamond border, but the paper pieces are cut precisely and held their shape beautifully through the stitching. The combination of needleturn and reverse applique in this pattern is such a rewarding challenge.
