Super Nova

The paper piecing instructions are laid out so clearly that I finished my first block without unpicking a single seam. The pattern's sections are well-marked, which made the whole process feel almost meditative rather than stressful.

The cutting templates are printed on sturdy card stock that survived being pinned and re-pinned across a dozen blocks. I'm newer to paper piecing and the numbered sections made the whole quilt top way less intimidating than I expected.

The pieces are pre-cut, which saves hours of tracing and cutting fabric before I even start stitching. Carl Hentsch's design looks stunning once the arcs come together, worth the extra patience paper piecing demands.
